All of our
flights today were launched with Mike Luna's new
Pro Launch, very nice
unit! He claims it is fire resistant, I wanted to test that but he didn't
want to play, party popper! It was very hot and dry by noon it was 112F
and we had a couple of small fires, so we wont fly again until we get some
rain and it cools off some. |

Kevin's
Aardvark 4" PAC3 flying on a 54 mm K1400 8 grain. A perfect flight to
4959' reported by the Missile Works RRC2X.

Marty's
Chubsy flying on a new 75 mm L1200 5 grain motor, this motor has an
internal nozzle and 5 longer grains in the 6 grain case. The flight up was
great to 5942' unfortunately the chute tangled causing a hard landing, due
to the bullet proof build and fiberglass nose cone it only suffered a
cracked fin fillet and will fly again with minor repairs. |

We talked
Bruce O'Brien into flying one of our 75 mm 4 grain sugar motors in his
motor tester called Get Shorty. This unique rocket is just a Performance
Rocketry fin can and nose cone with a short body tube, the screws that
hold the fin can go through the body tube into one of several motor
mounts. So it is completely modular and by removing 3 screws he can change
motor and/or body tube. Great flight, very fast, as soon as we get the
data from the Black Sky we will post the curves here. |

| One of
Mike Luna's beautiful rockets flying on a Pro38 load, nice flight. Later
in the day he flew it on one of Ron Zeppin's motors and it wasn't up to
the challenge, a very nice shred at motor burn out! |

The Crayon
once again flying on it's 54 mm J400 3 grain motor, for a very fast and
high flight. It would be fun to put a small altimeter in this thing to see
how high it goes. |

Mark Clark
and Ron Zeppin brought their new 6" N2444 single grain motor and static
fired it, much noise and fire! I think they left it sitting next to
Marty's Chubsy to show how inadequate his little 3" mount is! There is a
video at the XRAA site. |

One of the
locals hanging out under one of our prep tables, or was it we setup our
table over his home? Anyway he didn't look to impressed with the
racketeers! |
